WISTER, Okla. — A 4-year-old boy was struck and killed by a drunk driver on April 14 around 2 p.m., according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
Miguel Reyes, 18, was arrested for first-degree manslaughter, driving under the influence, and reckless driving on Sunday.
Reyes was traveling eastbound on US-270 when he departed the roadway at 250th Avenue where he drove through a privacy fence of a residence. He struck a 4-year-old boy who was behind the fence playing at the time, according to court documents. OHP says the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to OHP's report, Reyes was intoxicated and driving under the influence.
Reyes is being held on a $75,500 bond. His arraignment is set for April 19.
