CONWAY, Ark. — Before performing at Simmons Bank Arena in Little Rock, country music star Chris Stapleton stopped by a local Conway business to check out some vintage guitars.

Stapleton and his bandmates, guitarist Mike Eli and bass player J.T. Cure, visited Recycled Sound of Arkansas on Aug. 22, a business that has been buying, selling, and repairing vintage guitars and tube amps since 1994.

Greg Perrine, Recycled Sound's owner and operator, said Stapleton and his bandmates heard about the shop from one of their Facebook Marketplace ads. Despite having plans to play in an arena for almost 18,000 people that same night, Perrine said the band was down to Earth.

"All of these guys, including Mike — his guitar player — were absolute sweethearts," Perrine said. "Great guys. Down home. Unpretentious!"

Perrine's wife and his daughter, Michelle and Kellirae, also got to meet the band. Perrine said Stapleton sent a "Happy Birthday" video to Kellirae's boyfriend.

To top it off, Perrine said the band generously gave him four friends and family passes to Thursday night's show. He called the show "outstanding."

Before making their way down to Little Rock, Perrine said Stapleton bought one vintage guitar and three tube amps and Cure bought two amps from Recycled Sound.
