City of Bentonville to help residents pick up storm debris

The City will only pick up debris from those who submit a request.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — The City of Bentonville announced it will be helping residents pick up debris from recent storms. 

Residents can contact the city to schedule pickups from April 5-12. Pickups will not start until April 16. The City will only pick up debris from those who submit a request. 

Residents can submit requests through email at jtodd@bentonvillear.com or by calling 479-254-2059. 

Instructions

  • All storm debris should be ready for pickup at the curb 7 a.m., on April 16. Any debris placed after this date will not be picked up by the city and "is the owner's responsibility." 
  • Debris should be 4-10 feet from back of curb or edge of pavement. 
  • Storm debris should not exceed "6 feet in length or 24 inches in diameter," the city said. Stumps will not be picked up.

Precautions

The city asks residents to keep debris out of: 

  • drainage ditches 
  • streets 
  • fire hydrants
  • gas meters
  • telephone pedestals
  • water meters
  • mailboxes
  • utility structures

The city said this pickup is only for storm debris. It will not pickup other items such as "household waste, building materials, hazardous waste, furniture, appliances, fluids, tires, or any non-vegetative waste or material. 

Residents can also take storm debris to the City's Compost Facility at 2000 NW A Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. An ID and utility bill will be required as proof of residency.
