Crawford County opens up burn site in Alma for vegetative debris

Starting Tuesday, May 14, residents can take their debris to the burn site at 7530 Alma Highway until Saturday, May 25.

ALMA, Ark. — For the next two weeks, Crawford County has opened up a burn site in Alma for vegetative debris. 

County Judge Chris Keith said in an announcement that the site will only accept less than 10-foot pieces of limbs and trees. 

Starting Tuesday, May 14, residents can take their debris to the burn site at 7530 Alma Highway until Saturday, May 25. The site is closed on Fridays and Sundays. 

Burn site schedule:

  • Tuesday, May 14, through Thursday, May 16, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 18 from 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Monday, May 20, through Thursday, May 23, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 25, from 8 a.m. until noon. 

"To make things even easier, the county will provide a mini excavator to assist with offloading," Crawford County Department of Emergency Management said. "For everyone's safety, please remember to stay on the gravel at all times while on-site."
