BUFFALO, N.Y. — Did you know that for free you can send a care package to active military members overseas?
Through Crown Royal's Purple Bag Project, folks can do just that.
People can go onto Crown Royal's site here and choose 4 items out of their list of snacks, and tea to send to an active troop member. It is completely free, takes only a minute, and includes a personal message that can be attached as well.
The project started when Crown Royal teamed up with a small non-profit founder, Kathleen Lewis who started the company's project while her son was stationed with the Army's 1st Infantry Division. Her son had expressed how comforting it was to receive familiar items, and with that, the project was born.
Packages from Home, Lewi's nonprofit organization's mission has been to send care and comfort to deployed American Military heroes on active duty since November 2004.
