FORT SMITH, Ark. — A deadly motorcycle crash took place in Fort Smith on the night of Wednesday, Aug. 14, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.
The crash happened near US Highway 71 South and Burrough Road at around 10:40 p.m.

According to Arkansas State Police, the motorcycle was driving southbound "at a high rate of speed" when it hit a 1994 International truck. The motorcyclist, 26-year-old Zachary Boyd of Huntington, did not survive.
FSPD said the accident reconstruction team was at the scene for "several hours" before the area was reopened.
