FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Local chain Eureka Pizza announced that it will be shutting doors on all but one of its locations.
In a release from Eureka, the company explained that it is "turning a new page" after 32 years of operation, closing all locations in Northwest Arkansas and Fort Smith except for one location in Fayetteville.
The company said that it's excited to continue operations at the 1021 W. Dickson Street location.
Eureka said the decision "wasn't made lightly," but that rising costs hurt the business.
"Our commitment to fresh, hand-made ingredients has always set us apart, but it's extremely labor-intensive. Faced with staffing challenges and rising costs, we couldn't provide our team with the compensation they truly deserve," Eureka said.
The company thanked customers and communities served in the business' history.
"Your warm welcome and support since 1992 have been overwhelming. We're deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve you millions and millions of pizzas and meet countless wonderful customers and friends," Eureka said.
The notable pizza chain also thanked its employees.
"To our team: Your passion, commitment, and hard work have been the heart and soul of Eureka Pizza. This journey wouldn't have been possible without you," Eureka said. "We've had so many wonderful team members over the years, and we're thankful for every single one of you."
Eureka Pizza ensured that the brand lives on.
"Thank you, Arkansas, for 32 unforgettable years. Here's to new beginnings and the memories we've created together," the company said. "It's been one heck of a ride."
