Fayetteville hosting city-wide bike drive in partnership with Pedal It Forward NWA

Used bikes can be dropped off at the Fayetteville Police Department, Fayetteville Recycling and Trash Office, or the Fayetteville Parks Office on Dec. 3.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — In partnership with Pedal It Forward NWA, the City of Fayetteville is hosting a city-wide bike drive on Giving Tuesday.

Residents are welcome to drop their used bikes off at the following locations on Dec. 3:

  • Fayetteville Recycling and Trash Office at 1560 S Happy Hollow Rd.
  • Fayetteville Parks Office at 111 W Rock St., ste 250 (off the alley)
  • Fayetteville Police Department at 1800 N Stephen Carr Memorial Blvd. 

Bikes of any size, bikes in disrepair, or bike accessories will be accepted. The city will not accept any rusty bikes and encourage residents to recycle them. 

The police department said programs like this help Pedal It Forward continue its "mission of sharing the joy of bicycles."

"With the help of local organizations, our program collects, refurbishes, then distributes free or low-cost bicycles to those who can’t afford them," Pedal It Forward said on its website
