Apartment fire in Fayetteville sends resident and firefighter to the hospital

​Multiple units responded to the scene, and the fire is under investigation by authorities.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A residential fire in Fayetteville sent two people to the hospital on the morning of Oct. 21, according to the Fayetteville Fire Department (FFD).

The FFD tells 5NEWS that first responders were dispatched to a fire at Leverett Gardens around 8 a.m.

They were able to pull one woman out of the apartment, who was transported to Washinton Regional Medical Center. A firefighter was also taken to the hospital after being injured, FFD reports.

Authorities say multiple units responded to the scene, and the origin of the fire is under investigation by the Fayetteville Fire Marshal's Office.
