FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Two Fayetteville auto repair businesses have announced that they are merging.
University Auto and Tire, located at 614 N. College Ave., has acquired The Grease Pig Lube and Tune, with locations at 2897 N. College Ave. and 1499 Martin Luther King Blvd.
Will and Bernadette Helton, the owners of University Auto and Tire, say that they are excited about the merger.
"This is an exciting opportunity for us to expand our footprint right here in Fayetteville with a combined 73 years of customer service”, Will said in a release. “Not only can we offer our customers expert auto repair and tire replacement, but now we can provide that same level of professionalism and quality when you just need a quick oil change.”
The Grease Pig locations were acquired from Kent and Melissa Atkins, who say that they are ready to see the Heltons take the reins.
Will and Atkins are both University of Arkansas graduates who "want nothing more than to be able to carry on the strong tradition of providing excellent customer service and quality products across the Fayetteville area," according to the release.
Will says that the local, honest, and professional standard that University Auto and Tire has set will be translated to the newly acquired auto shops.
"For decades, the customers of University Auto have appreciated knowing that they will be treated the right way by familiar faces. This will continue to be the standard for the two new Grease Pig locations," the release said.
“You will see significant investment in our people, our process, our locations, and our products so that we can provide the absolute best customer service to you for years to come," Will added.
