FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville has installed new electric vehicle charging stations in the West Avenue Parking Deck on Dickson Street.
The EV charging stations join a growing list of charging availability across the city:
- Spring Street Parking Deck
- Fayetteville Public Library south parking lot
- Mountain Street parking lot near Downtown Square
- Meadow Street Parking Deck
- West Avenue Parking Deck
There are two chargers at each location for a total of 10 chargers. The city says that these charging stations, operated by Blink Charging, are "strategically located" to provide convenient access to those that need it.
In a release from the city, environmental director for Fayetteville's Sustainability and Resilience Department Peter Nierengarten said that the charging stations are aimed at promoting sustainable transportation and supporting the growing community of EV users.
“We are excited to introduce these EV charging stations in Fayetteville,” Nierengarten said. “These installations underscore our dedication to enhancing urban sustainability and providing residents and visitors with the infrastructure necessary to adopt cleaner transportation methods.”
The West Avenue Parking Deck installation marks "a significant milestone in Fayetteville's commitment to environmental stewardship and advancing infrastructure that aligns with modern sustainability goals," according to the release.
The Mountain Street charging stations were first installed in 2013, with the six others being installed since June 2023.
The city says that users can obtain rate information and operation details at the charging stations.
