Fayetteville's Spring Bulky Waste Cleanup begins

​This event is designed for residents to throw away any large or bulky items that don't fit in their trash bins.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville has set up its first Spring Bulky Waste Cleanup event for Saturday, March 23. 

This event is designed for residents to throw away any large or bulky items that don't fit in their trash bin. 

The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates:

  • April 6: At 1910 N. Old Wire Road or 1560 S. Happy Hollow
  • April 13: At 3249 W. Mount Comfort Road or 1560 S. Happy Hollow
  • May 4: At 764 W. North Street or 1560 S. Happy Hollow

Proof of residency will be required through a utility bill or a valid driver's license. 

List of items allowed according to the city: 

  • Couches
  • Chairs
  • Mattresses
  • Washers
  • Dryers
  • Hot Water Heaters
  • Carpet
  • Vinyl Flooring
  • Drywall

Paneling is also accepted in limited amounts but contractors are not allowed. Freon-bearing appliances are also accepted at one per household. Any additional appliances are accepted for $34.80 a piece "to cover Freon removal," the city said. 

Items not allowed according to the city:

  • Residential and commercial garbage
  • Leaves, grass, dirt and rocks
  • Tires
  • Medical Waste
  • Hazardous Waste
