FORT SMITH, Ark. — The Fort Smith Police Department responded to a young black bear in the area on July 19.
FSPD said in a release that officers responded to the 1900 block of S. 21st St. to contain the bear, which was perched in a tree.
Arkansas Game and Fish were contacted and responded to the scene.
A witness told 5NEWS that the bear was eventually tranquilized by Game and Fish and safely removed from the tree.
