FORT SMITH, Ark. — According to the Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD), a shooting left one person injured on Friday, Nov. 3. Police now say they are searching for 28-year-old Stephan McKinney, who may be driving a 1993 Honda Accord.
Officials say the shooting took place in the 4600 block of Yorkshire Drive. The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
5NEWS reached out to Union Christian Academy, and Superintendent Ricky Massengill confirmed they put the school on lockdown as a precaution, but the school didn't experience any issues.
FSPD says they have not made an arrest yet, but they believe this is an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact police at 479-709-5100 or 911 if it is an emergency.
