FORT SMITH, Ark. — The Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD) reported that a tornado siren is still out of service due to a mechanical issue.
The tornado siren at the corner of Tennessee Circle and Old Highway 71 has been out of service since FSPD first announced an outage on March 14 while residents were under a severe thunderstorm warning.
The police department said repairs are currently underway.
They also encouraged residents to closely monitor the changing severe weather until the siren is repaired.
All other sirens in Fort Smith are fully functional.
