FORT SMITH, Ark. — According to Sebastian County Prosecuting Attorney Daniel Shue, a Fort Smith woman is in custody after threatening Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders.
The affidavit for probable cause says that on June 14, 66-year-old Susan Scott called the governor's office, and said she would build a bomb and use it to "blow the office up."
When authorities went to Scott's home, she continued to "threaten the life" of the governor and was placed under arrest, the affidavit said. Scott allegedly resisted during the arrest by pulling, kicking, and head butting to avoid getting arrested.
Scott is facing two felony charges: threatening to cause a catastrophe and battery in the second degree.
Scott appeared in court on June 26, and a not-guilty plea was entered. The Sebastian County Circuit Judge set a bond of $500,000.
