Fundraiser at Rogers brewery this Saturday raising money to prevent infant loss in daycares

The Remembering Nicholas Foundation trains daycare providers in pediatric CPR and financially supports families who have had to bury their infants.

ROGERS, Ark. — This weekend, a Northwest Arkansas family is hosting a fundraiser at a brewery in Rogers to support their mission of preventing infant loss and helping families who have had to bury their children.

Back in May, we introduced you to Rachael Wasniewski and shared the story of how her baby, Nicholas, died after he was laid down improperly for a nap at an at-home daycare.

The devastated parents decided to create The Remembering Nicholas Foundation that teaches pediatric CPR to Arkansas daycare providers for free.

Daycares that complete training receive free Owlet socks that monitor a baby’s vitals as they sleep.

I'm trying to make the best of what I have available to me, and that's helping others and trying to save lives as well because the last thing I want is for a mom to have to experience what I did,” Rachael Wasniewski said in May.

The Remembering Nicholas Foundation has also helped 50 families cover the cost of their children’s funerals, any related hospital bills, and therapy.

If you’d like to support, you can buy a ticket at the door at Rendezvous Junction Brewing in Rogers this Saturday, on what would have been Nicholas’ fourth birthday.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature the band known as The Juice, as well as a silent auction and a dunk tank.

You can find more information on tickets here.
