GOSHEN, Ark. — The Goshen Fire District posted to Facebook that a daring rescue was performed after severe weather conditions knocked down a tree onto a motorist.
The post says that crews responded to an incident in which a large tree collapsed onto a driver leaving them trapped in their vehicle.
Goshen Fire says that the driver was helped out of the vehicle by an off-duty firefighter and the tree was cut up and removed from the road.
"We are experiencing a surge of calls related to storms moving through the NWA region," the Goshen Fire District said. "Please be careful if you have to drive, watch for downed power lines or trees that may be close to breaking, and if possible, avoid driving all together."
The fire district says that nine firefighters and three fire trucks have responded to three separate incidents related to the weather.
