City advises against consuming water supplied by Heavener Utilities Authority

The city advises boiling water for at least one minute before any type of consumption.

HEAVENER, Okla. — The drinking water supplied by the Heavener Utilities Authority may be unsafe for consumption due to a loss of water pressure in the water system, according to the City of Heavener.

The low water pressure and possible contamination were caused by line work.

The city advises boiling water for at least one minute before any type of consumption such as drinking, food preparation, baby formula, washing dishes, brushing teeth, or making ice. They also advise against bathing infants or caring for wounds without boiling water first.

Take precautions until further notice. For questions call 918-568-0012 or 866-753-8392.
