SPRINGDALE, Ark. — With Independence Day upon us again, here are some patriotic events coming up in Northwest Arkansas, the River Valley, and Eastern Oklahoma.
Centerton
Fourth Fest - Updated after weather postponement
- Where: First Baptist Church Centerton
- What: Free fireworks show
- Weather Update: The Fourth Fest fireworks show, which was originally scheduled for July 4, has been rescheduled to July 5 at 8 p.m.
Rogers
July 4th Fireworks Spectacular - An American Salute - Updated after weather postponement
- Where: Walmart AMP
- What: Alongside the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas under the direction of Paul Haas, the AMP will be celebrating the holiday with a concert and fireworks show sponsored by the City of Rogers. Tickets are on sale for $3 to $25. Prices for lawn tickets will increase the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased here.
- Weather Update: The July 4th concert at the AMP has been canceled due to weather and will not be rescheduled. The fireworks show has been rescheduled to 9:15 p.m. on July 5. Contact the box office by Aug. 1 to request a refund or your tickets will be converted to a donation to the Walton Arts Center and the Walmart AMP.
Gentry
Freedom Fest
- Where: Gentry City Park
- What: Car show, pageants, live music, kids activities, food vendors, craft vendors, and fireworks.
- When: July 4 — Fireworks at dusk
Siloam Springs
Fourth of July Block Party
- Where: Sue Anglin Drive near the rodeo grounds
- What: A celebration with live music and food trucks, as well as a sky diving spectacle and line dancing. The night will end with a firework show.
- Weather Update: The City of Siloam Springs says that fireworks were set off early and the event is now over.
Greenwood
Freedomfest on the Square
- Where: Greenwood Square
- What: 5k race, crafts fair, food truck fair, entertainment, and fireworks.
- When: July 4 — 5k at 7 a.m. Crafts fair, food truck fair, and entertainment from 9 a.m. until dark. Fireworks start at dark.
Fort Smith
The Mayor's 4th of July Celebration
- Where: Harry E. Kelley Park at Fort Smith's Riverfront
- What: A free annual event featuring live music, giveaways, food trucks, and "the largest fireworks display in the region," according to the city.
- When: July 4 — Streets near park close at 4 p.m., gates open at 5 p.m., mayor's welcome at 6 p.m., live music begins at 7 p.m., and fireworks and music from the River Valley Community Band begins at 9:30 p.m.
Bentonville
Evening at Orchards Park - 4th of July Celebration - Updated after weather postponement
- Where: Orchards Park
- What: An event free to the public to experience fireworks, food trucks, and live music.
- Weather Update: The Evening at Orchards Park fireworks show was rescheduled to July 5 at 9:30 p.m.
Japton
Annual Independence Day Celebration
- Where: Japton Community Park
- What: An Independence Day celebration with water activities, live music, concessions, and fireworks. All concession stand proceeds will go to the Japton Community Park and the Japton Volunteer Fire Department. Tickets will be sold for a $500 gift card raffle.
- When: July 6 — Festivities start at 5 p.m.
Tontitown
Freedom and Family Night
- Where: Cross Pointe Church
- What: Food trucks, music dancing, games, fireworks, and more.
- When: July 23 — Starts at 7 p.m.
Van Buren
City of Van Buren July 4th event
- Where: Field of Dreams, 1 Toothaker Dr.
- What: Fireworks display, food vending
- When: July 4 — Gates open at 7 p.m., fireworks start at dark. No alcohol, pets, fireworks, or firearms allowed.
