League of Women Voters to host Ward 1 city council candidate forum

The forum will allow voters to hear directly from Ward 1 candidates David Phillips, Katy Sager, Bob Stafford, and S Robert Smith.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The League of Women Voters of Washington County and Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce will co-host a Ward 1 City Council candidate forum at the Fayetteville Public Library in the Walker Room on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 5:30 p.m. 

The forum will allow voters to hear directly from the Ward 1 candidates—David Phillips, Katy Sager, Bob Stafford, and S Robert Smith. Admission is free. 

Early voting for the vacant Fayetteville City Council seat begins Nov. 7 and ends Nov. 13 at the Washington County Courthouse at 280 North College Ave., between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  Voting will be closed Nov. 10 to observe Veteran's Day and during the weekend on Nov. 11 and Nov. 12.

Election Day is Nov. 14 between 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. All eligible voters in the City of Fayetteville Ward 1 can cast their votes at Cornerstone Church of Christ at 4377 Huntsville Rd., Genesis Church at 205 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., or Yvonne Richardson Community Center at 240 E. Rock St., according to Washington County's website.

Before Election Day, the League of Women Voters will gather at Veterans Memorial Park in Fayetteville to "Dash for Democracy" in a 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk on Nov. 11 at 9 a.m.
