List: Cinco de Mayo celebrations in Arkansas

Here is a list of a few events that are already announced in our area.

ARKANSAS, USA — Cinco de Mayo is approaching and Arkansas is preparing for the big and colorful celebrations. Local celebrations include authentic foods, folkloric dances, mariachi and more. 

Here is a list of events across the area. 

Rogers

May 3: Cinco de Mayo Celebration at Rendezvous Junction Brewing Co.

Tickets for this event are $50. It includes;

  • Food and beer: 4:30 p.m. forward
  • Mariachi at 5 p.m. 
  • Folkloric dance from 6:20 p.m. - 6:40 p.m. 

100% of the funds raised will go to First Tee NWA, an outreach program that caters to the underprivileged community. 

Springdale

May 4: Cinco de Mayo Festival at 922 E. Emma Avenue from 12-7 p.m. 

  • Free to the public
  • Live music
  • Games
  • Food for purchase

The money raised will go to scholarships organized by the Hispanic Women's Organization of Arkansas

May 5: Cinco De Mayo Taco Eating Contest at Fridha's Mexican Kitchen and Mezcal at 6 p.m.

  • Five participants to compete in a taco eating contest for a $100 prize
  • Specials to be announced

Fort Smith

May 3: Cinco de Mayo at La Mesa Mexican Restaurant

May 3: Cinco de Mayo Pub Crawl at Downtown Fort Smith (Garrison Avenue) from 5-11 p.m.

  • Exclusive food specials
  • Drink specials

May 4: Baptist Health La Clínica del Pueblo Community Fair (Cinco de Mayo theme) at 4700 Kelley Highway Suite B from 12-4 p.m. 

  • Free health screenings
  • Mexican food for sale
  • Vendors

May 4 and 5: Joe's Cinco De Mayo Celebration at Joe's Grill & Cantina.

  • Taco eating contest
  • Live Music
  • Karaoke
  • Food and drink specials

May 19: Cinco de Mayo and 21st-anniversary celebration of La Raza 92.3 radio station at Fort Smith Park.

Note: This event was originally scheduled for May 5, but on April 2, La Raza announced that it had to be postponed due to inclement weather.
