According to the release, 44-year-old Daniel Harrison was convicted of the charges, which officials say "were committed in the presence of a child."

In the arrest affidavit, investigators claimed that Harrison had been sexually assaulting the victim over the course of six years, beginning when the child was six years old.

Holmes said Harrison was given the following sentences to run concurrently:

  • 40 years for rape
  • 20 years for child enhancement (10 additional years to each charge)
  • 20 years for sexual assault

The release said Harrison will "likely serve 48 years" before being eligible for parole.
