Man in mental crises flags Fayetteville Police for help

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Fayetteville Police Department (FDP) officers are all trained in crisis intervention. 

More than 20 have completed a 40-hour crisis intervention course.

This photo is from an incident when a man flagged officers down to get some assistance while in a mental crisis, according to FDP. 

He was taken to the Crisis Stabilization Unit, which opened in 2019 in Fayetteville.
