GARFIELD, Ark. — A minor was killed in a head-on crash while driving a dirt bike in Benton County on July 27.
According to a crash report from the Benton County Sheriff's Office, the minor, who remains unnamed, was driving a dirt bike at the time of the crash.
The crash occurred at 11:42 a.m. in Garfield. The report says the victim's vehicle was traveling west on Main Street when it approached a curve. A second vehicle traveling east on Main Street struck the first vehicle head-on.
The report says that road conditions were clear and dry.
According to the Pea Ridge School District, the child attended Pea Ridge Junior High School. On Monday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the district said they will have counselors and staff at the junior high to help support students, staff, and the community during this loss.
5NEWS has reached out to the Benton County Sheriff's Office for more information about the crash. The agency said they will not release additional information about the incident, including the name of the other driver, because the case involves a minor.
