FORT SMITH, Ark. — Second Lieutenant and 2024's Miss America Madison Marsh is planning a celebratory visit to the city she was born in, Fort Smith Arkansas, on Friday, May 10.
In collaboration, Fort Smith has announced multiple events, including school visits, meet and greets, and even a parade.
Marsh is expected to begin her morning at schools like the private Immaculate Conception Elementary, Trinity Catholic School, Woods Elementary, and Southside High School.
From 1:30 - 2:30 p.m., Marsh will sit in on a closed interview with Fort Smith Mayor George McGill that will be live-streamed on the city's YouTube channel.
Following the meeting, a public meet-and-greet is planned from 2:45 - 4 p.m.
The Miss America Parade from 6:30 - 7 will go down Garrison Avenue from 6th Street to 10th Street and feature the Northside and Southside marching bands as well as local dance and cheer groups.
Madison Marsh, an alumna of Southside High School, was crowned Miss America 2024 while representing Colorado, the state she lives in.
Aside from being the first military member to win Miss America, Marsh is hoping to make a difference in the fight against pancreatic cancer with the Whitney Marsh Foundation.
