WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — Skeletal remains found on Nov. 16 were confirmed to belong to Brandon Barron, who had been reported missing in June 2020, the sheriff's office announced on Wednesday.
Deputies were dispatched to southern Washington County where "possible human remains" were found on Thursday, Nov. 16, at around 2 p.m. The initial investigation by the sheriff's office confirmed the remains to be human skeletal remains and sent them to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock for identification, officials said.
According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office announcement on Wednesday, Nov. 22, the remains were identified to belong to Barron.
In the announcement, the sheriff's office didn't include information on Barron's cause of death.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Brandon's loved ones during this very difficult time," WCSO said.
