Semi rollover crash in Oklahoma kills Missouri man

JAY, Oklahoma — A Missouri man has died after a semi rollover crash in Jay, Okla. on July 9, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP). 

According to OHP's report, 36-year-old Brandon Yens of Noel was driving a 2023 Freightliner semi northbound on Highway 59 around 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday. 

When Yens approached a lefthand curve, his back tires reportedly departed the roadway, causing the semi to overturn and land on its top. 

First responders recovered Yens from the vehicle around 8:30 a.m. Yens was pronounced dead at the scene. 

According to OHP, the collision was caused due to Yens "driving too fast for road conditions."
