New charter school to replace Haas Hall Academy in historic Rogers building

The Arkansas School for Advanced Studies will be opening its doors in the historic building on West Poplar Street in time for the 2024-25 school year.

ROGERS, Ark. — A new charter school will soon replace the Haas Hall Academy in the historic building in Downtown Rogers for the next school year.

The Arkansas School for Advanced Studies will be opening its doors in the building of the former Lane Hotel on West Poplar Street in time for the 2024-25 school year.

According to the charter school's website, when the state first approved the tuition-free school last year, they had plans to bring the school to Bentonville and call it the Bentonville School for Advanced Studies.

With no location picked out yet, plans changed for Advanced Studies when Haas Hall announced its move from downtown to a building near Interstate 49 in Rogers. Haas Hall will complete the current school year and move to its new location in the summer of 2024.

Enrollment for Advanced Studies is currently underway for students between grades 5 and 9 for the upcoming school year. According to Advanced Studies, they plan to add a grade level each year to be able to serve grades 5 through 12 by the 2027-28 school year.

For interested families, there will be a prospective parent information session on Jan. 18 at 5 p.m. at the Bentonville Community Center. Online registration is required.
