Northwest Arkansas Community College reports record enrollment

Vice President of Student Affairs Justin White largely attributes high enrollment numbers to NWACC's partnerships with surrounding school districts.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — A preliminary count of Northwest Arkansas Community College's credit students enrolled for the 2024 fall semester shows the largest enrollment in the college's history.

"We are seeing robust enrollment across our programs," NWACC President Dr. Dennis C. Rittle said. "It is a testament to the hard work of our faculty and staff, who overcame some real challenges to achieve this milestone."

The new record comes after a 10% growth in 2022 and a 7% growth last year.

In the latest figures, NWACC found that 9,017 credit students represent a 7% increase compared to last year's fall enrollment of 8,409 students.

"Most of our growth has come from first-time entering freshmen, so they're students that have never been to college before," Vice President of Student Affairs Justin White said. "That number is up 41%. We obviously attribute that to our great partnerships with our school districts. We have great partnerships with every school district in Northwest Arkansas, in Benton and Washington County, and, really, across the region and state."

The total enrollment count of credit students, accelerated skills training students, and adult education students brings the combined number of students to 10,272.
