One killed in Sequoyah County crash

SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. — A crash in Sequoyah County has left one dead.

According to a fatality report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), the crash occurred on July 9 at around 2:21 p.m.

The crash happened near E 1070 Rd and S 4670 Rd, around three miles east of Sallisaw, according to the report.

The report says that Janet Needham, 66, of Muldrow, was ejected from her vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

OHP says that what happened, including the cause of the collision and the condition of the drivers, is still under investigation.

The report notes that two men in another vehicle involved in the crash were not injured.
