A second man has been arrested in connection with a Fort Smith stabbing.
According to Cpl. Patricia Sullivan, 26-year-old Richard Hunt was taken into custody Wednesday night (Aug. 7).
Hunt was arrested on an outstanding warrant for second degree battery. He was booked into the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
Officers responded to the Bradford Place apartment complex on Dallas Street in reference to a stabbing around 10:36 p.m. Monday (Aug. 5), according to a police report.
Two women told police that Larry Walker and Richard Hunt came to the apartment and became loud and offensive. When they were asked to leave, Hunt allegedly approached one of the women and swung at her, the police report states. The second woman tried to stop Hunt, who was armed with a knife, and sustained a shallow gash across her throat.
Hunt stabbed the other woman several times on her arms and hip, while Walker held the other woman down, the report states.
Both men left the area in a black sports utility vehicle. Walker was found a short time later in the vehicle at Jenny Lind Road and Country Club. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and second degree battery.
Both women were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and have since been released.
