Construction on the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion finished just in time for the concert season.
On Wednesday (June 4) 5NEWS Reporter Katelynn Zoellner went on a private tour of the new $11 million facility.
With a seating capacity for 7,000, it's the largest outdoor concert venue in the state. The new facility also includes upgraded concessions and air-conditioned restrooms.
"I think it's exciting to have in my hometown and to have it here," said Genelle Trowbridge.
"I love concerts, so I think it's great to have this so close," said Brooke Kerstiens.
Lighting and state of the art sound systems, all to enhance the experience for pavilion customers and performers alike.
"It's an iconic structure, I mean there's nothing like this in the state or anywhere," said David Swain, Walton Arts Center Owner Representative. "We have 600 Amps, so we've got enough for the largest touring shows that you can have."
There are also giant television screens suspended on both sides of the stage.
"There are actually thirty six 55-inch televisions all ganged together, and it makes one big television on each side," Swain said.
It doesn't stop at the aesthetics. The lineup for this summer is stacked with some of the biggest names in music, including Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert and Darius Rucker.
"I love all of those artists, and it's just really exciting to see them is now going to be a possibility," Kerstiens said.
While construction crews are excited to see months of hard work come to life this Saturday, so are local concert goers, because they too can't wait for the big unveiling.
"They've put a lot of work and money into this, and I think it's going to turn out great," Trowbridge said. "I can't wait to attend a concert."
The AMP's grand opening concert is Saturday, June 7. Country music superstar Blake Shelton will take the stage. The sold out show starts at 7:30 p.m.
