FORT SMITH (KFSM) – Members and participants of the Sebastian County Drug Court held a balloon release and memorial for a woman who died in a car accident.
Brooke Clark passed away on July 11, 2015. Clark was a participant of the Sebastian County Drug Court and was in good standing. Because there was no funeral, the drug court staff decided to hold a memorial for her.
Shirl Page with the Sebastian County Drug Court said, “The purpose of this memorial is to remember Brooke, and to remind the people of drug court that we are not just here to just make them test clean on their drug tests, but we’re part of their family so to speak. That’s what families do. Gather together in good times, bad and sad.”
Before the balloon release, the group recited a serenity prayer.
