HALTOM CITY, TX (KFSM) — A talk show radio host from Bentonville was killed by an Amtrak train while jogging on Tuesday (Feb. 5) in Texas.
Michael "Doc" Thompson, 49, was identified as the man who was struck by a passing train in Haltom City, Texas, according to our CBS news partners out of Dallas CBS 11.
Thompson was a conservative radio host who had previously worked for Glen Beck's The Blaze radio.
He was "one of those one-in-a-million talents," Beck posted on theblaze.com.

Thompson was the host of "Doc Thompson's Daily MoJo 5.0" radio talk show.
Ron Phillips, an owner along with Thompson and others in Mojo 5.0 Radio, told CBS 11 Wednesday that he worked with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office to identify Thompson.
Phillips told 5NEWS he is grateful for the time he had with Doc and the lasting impact he left on his life along with many others.
"Doc Thompson was my brother. He was my friend. He and I talked all the time, and when it came right down to it you have business partners and you have friends and Doc was more of a friend to me, and I thank the community up there for allowing us to have Doc as a part of our lives for as long as we had him."
It's reported that he was struck by the train less than a mile from the Mojo 5.0 office in Haltom City.
Thompson leaves behind his wife and three children. The family lived in Bentonville, while Thompson commuted every week to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for his radio show. His wife, Yuna Lee, is a news anchor in northwest Arkansas.

CBS 11 says Haltom City Police said wireless earbuds were found near Thompson, indicating to investigators that he may not have heard the Amtrak train as he jogged near the tracks.
Funeral arrangements are pending at this time.
