FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- The Bikes, Blues & BBQ Motorcycle Rally will bring more than $100 million to the local economy when it is over, but the economic impact on individual businesses varies.
The owner of Farrell's Lounge Bar & Grill on Dickson Street said his sales go up during the rally and compared it to a longer version of a Razorback game day.
"It is just intense the entire time we are open," Tim Farrell said.
But not all businesses in Fayetteville see the same sales boost.
"The biking community really is not our main customer," Clayton Harbers, manager at Gearhead, an outdoor apparel and gear store, said.
The store opened on Dickson Street just two months ago.
"A lot of people do not know we are open just because the tents cover [the store] up," Harbers said. "Once the tents go full-bloom, it was almost a lost cause."
But unlike some other businesses in the area, Harbers said Gearhead will be staying open during the rally.
"It is all for charity," he said. "So it is all good spirits."
