FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Fort Smith police have identified the 28-year-old man who drowned in the Arkansas River.
Police said the body of Davey Lee Bruce was pulled from the Arkansas River Saturday night (June 23).
A female, who was in the water and tried to save the man, managed to get out, according to authorities at the scene. Fort Smith fire crews launched a rescue boat from a ramp just east of the Arkansas River's Riverfront Park.
The incident occurred near the River Front Blues Fest.
Bruce's family told 5NEWS he was a father of five.
