ALMA (KFSM)-The Alma Water Park is all lit up for the holiday season. A drive-thru Christmas light display opened to the public with a ceremony to kick it all off.
More than 40,000 lights are on display.
"It's very pretty and you know, you bring your kids out here and have a good time with your family,” Anthony Keith, spectator said.
Keith took his three-year-old daughter to see the lights.
"I think the coolest thing is the little tunnel you went through,” he said.
Volunteers from area churches and the City of Alma put up the whole display.
"We just enjoy visiting with people and having a good time,” Calvin Dutton, volunteer said.
He said they get around 100 cars per night. The display is free, but donations are encouraged. Proceeds all go to benefit the Alma Community Outreach Program, which helps feed the hungry.
"A donation is really appreciated and it goes for a really good cause it helps a lot of people.
“Anytime we can help somebody this time of year or any time of year, that's a good cause for us is to be a blessing to someone else,” Dutton said.
You can check out the display every night from 5-10 p.m. Organizers said they’ve been doing this for the past four years.
