FORT SMITH (KFSM) — The proposed Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine has been granted pre-accreditation status, the school announced Monday afternoon (Sept. 14) in a press release.
The status was granted by the American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation at its meeting in Chicago, Ill. in August, the release stated.
“We are excited to be moving forward in the process,” Dr. Kenneth A. Heiles, dean of the proposed college, stated in the release. “Pre-accreditation status will aid in helping to recruit the highest qualified faculty and staff as we move forward toward provisional status.”
The projected completion date of the osteopathic school is April 2016.
