A Fort Smith man accused of murdering his wife will stand trial in August.
Brent Cotta, 33, appeared for a mandatory hearing Wednesday morning in a Sebastian County Circuit Court. His trial on a first-degree murder charge will begin the week of August 20.
Cotta is accused of strangling his 24-year-old wife Cassie. She was reported missing on New Year’s Eve.
On Jan. 3, Cotta led investigators to where her body was dumped on Gun Club Road in rural Crawford County
