KIBLER (KFSM) — Kibler police arrested a man who is accused of trying to murder another man while he was mowing the lawn.
Mark Burroughs was booked into the Crawford County Jail on Wednesday (May 18) and is facing attempted murder charges.
A man said he was mowing the lawn of a home in the 500 block of South Arkansas Avenue when Burroughs came out of the home with a 9 mm gun and fired one shot at him, according to Kibler Police Chief Roger Green. The bullet missed the man but passed near his head, he said.
Burroughs’ gun jammed, so he was unable to fire another shot, Green said. The other man grabbed a brick and hit Burroughs several times in the head with it.
When police arrived at the residence around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, they found Burroughs lying on the ground.
Burroughs was taken to the hospital, and then booked into the Crawford County Jail after he was released, Green said.
He is being held without bond.
The other man was not charged in the incident.
