(KFSM) - Dish Network customers have lost access to cable news channel Fox News and Fox News Business, according to a post on Dish Network's website.

Both Fox and Dish Network have been trading jabs over the incident, each with their own reason for the dispute.

The channels went black just after 12 a.m. on Dec. 21, according to a Facebook post from Dish Network.

Dish Network replaced Fox News with The Blaze, a new channel owned by Glenn Beck, and it replaced Fox Business Channel with CNBC, according to WTVR - Channel 6.

"Fox removed Fox News and Fox Business, using these channels as leverage to increase the rates we pay for other channels that are not included in this contract. We offered an extension so customers would not be impacted by these negotiations. Unfortunately, Fox refused this offer," Dish Network stated in a post on their website.

Fox News has been urging its viewers to drop Dish Network and switch to another cable or satellite provider, WTVR reported.

“Dish prematurely ceased distribution of Fox News in an attempt to intimidate and sway our negotiations,” Fox News executive vice president of distribution Tim Carry said in a statement early Sunday morning.
