FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – A woman in Springdale has created a Facebook page to honor the memory of Jack Luper, a man who was killed by Jo Jackson.
Jo Jackson was arrested, after police say she hit Luper while driving under the influence of a pain killer.
The creator of the Facebook page for Luper says she wants a more strict punishment for Jo Jackson, who has been arrested three times this summer for driving under the influence.
“What is it going to take to stop Jo Jackson? She didn`t learn her lesson, if she did she wouldn`t still be out there drunk driving,” said Deborah Johnson, the creator of the “Justice 4 Jack” Facebook page. “We need stiffer penalties and stiffer laws for DWI victims.”
Under State Law, a suspect can be convicted of three DWI’s before being charged with a felony.
“You get a fourth DWI, then that becomes a felony,” said Fayetteville Prosecutor Casey Jones.
Johnson says she hopes the Facebook page will help bring more awareness to repeat DWI offenders, while comforting the family of Luper.
“The Luper family has endured enough, they have suffered enough,” Johnson said. “Enough is enough, send the message to the courts.”
