FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — A Farmington man is facing charges after he was accused of kidnapping his young daughter over the weekend.
Steven Tyler Sisco, 25, is facing charges of kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a minor, terroristic threatening, aggravated assault, domestic battery and fleeing, according to a preliminary report.
Sisco was accused of taking his daughter by force from his estranged girlfriend’s home on West Holly Street early Saturday morning (April 30). The report states that as he was leaving, he pushed his girlfriend into a wall and then fled on foot towards his vehicle.
Then he threatened to cut a friend of his girlfriend’s as he was running away with child, according to the report. He was holding the girl on one side and brandishing a black pocketknife with a 3-inch blade in the other hand.
Sisco ran to his car and put his daughter in the front passenger seat without a safety seat, the report states. His girlfriend attempted to remove the girl, but Sisco was able to speed away from the area.
Police said they found a car matching that description pull into the Green Acres Mobile Home Park, and then Sisco parked in front of one of the homes, which belonged to a family member, but ran away with his daughter.
The owners of the home refused to allow officers inside, but an officer later spotted Sisco and the child from the doorway. According to the report, Sisco was holding the girl “in a shield fashion.”
Sisco was ordered to put the girl down, and then he was taken into custody.
He was booked into the Washington County Jail but released on a $10,000 bond.
