FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — An alleged thief is accused of more than 10 felonies in connection with breaking into vehicles.
Derrick William Wallace-McLard, 22, of Fayetteville was arrested on suspicion of nine counts of breaking or entering, three counts of theft of property and one count of possession of Xanax.
About 5:50 a.m. police were dispatched to a home in the 1900 block of W. Capella Street regarding a vehicle breaking or entering. The caller described the suspect as a biracial man, between the ages of 25 and 26, wearing a brown jacket, dark pants and walking a dog.
Police found the suspect near the 800 block of West Diamond Street and identified him as Derrick Wallace-McLard.
According to the police report, stolen property was found in Wallace-McLard’s possession. He reportedly admitted to stealing the items from three vehicles.
Police said several other vehicles were also broken into.
