FORT SMITH (KFSM) — The Department of Sanitation has announced cleanup dates for all of Fort Smith.
A release from the city of Fort Smith stated that starting Saturday (April 16), residents will be able to dispose of their trash and unwanted items at a select location within their ward. The cleanup lasts one week and concludes April 23.
Drop-off locations are:
- Ward 1 – Grand Avenue Baptist Church on the 3900 block of Grand Avenue in the north parking lot (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
- Ward 2 – North 50th and Plum Streets in a parking lot one block east (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
- Ward 3 – Evans Boys and Girls Club at 6015 Boys Club Lane (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
- Ward 4 – Goldtrap-Gardner Boys and Girls Club at 8800 South Dallas Street (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
The city stated that the cleanup is for Fort Smith residents only, and that the amount of trash each person brings should contain no more than what would fit in a 4’x8′ pickup truck.
People are encouraged to bring their materials throughout the week to avoid the potential of waiting in line.
Items not accepted are hazardous or toxic wastes, car batteries, engine oil, cleaning chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, paints, liquids of any kind, grass, leaves or brush and tires.
