LITTLE ROCK (KTHV) — Four decommissioned Arkansas State Police vehicles were recently stolen from the department’s administrative headquarters auto storage lot.
The lot is located in a locked fence area of the department’s administrative headquarters property at Interstate 30 and Geyer Springs Road.
All of the vehicles were awaiting transfer to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, Marketing and Redistribution warehouse. State Police markings and emergency equipment had been removed from the vehicles in advance of the planned transfer to the warehouse.
State Police investigators first learned of the thefts on Wednesday, September 16. The State Police Fleet Operations staff began an immediate audit of the department’s vehicle inventory. Two of the vehicles were recovered the same day (Wednesday), one in Little Rock and the second in Union County.
The two vehicles still missing are identified as:
- 2010 Dodge Charger (white in color)
- 2006 Ford Crown Victoria (white in color)
Special Agents of the State Police Criminal Investigation Division are heading-up the investigation along with agents of the State Police Office of Professional Standards. No arrests have been made in connection with the case, however there are active leads in the case which are being investigated.
Law enforcement agencies statewide have been alerted with information about the stolen vehicles.
