BOZEMAN, Mont. – A man from Bozeman, Montana posted shocking footage on Facebook that he says shows the moments after he survived a grizzly bear attack, and the footage has been viewed millions of times in a matter of hours.

Todd Orr posted the video below Sunday, saying it showed him in the moments after a bear attack in Madison Valley Montana on Saturday. While Fox 13 News has not been able to independently verify the details of the man’s account, the photos and video provide compelling evidence for his story.

WARNING: The video posted below contains extremely graphic footage of the man’s wounds, including blood and protruding bone. There are also several instances of profanity. Viewer discretion is advised.

In a separate post, Orr offers a written account of the reported bear attack. He said he was scouting for elk and was taking care to shout to announce his presence while on the trail so as not to surprise any bears. Orr said he came to a meadow and encountered a female bear and some cubs. He said he yelled at the bear to get it to leave, but the animal charged instead.

Orr emptied a, “full charge of bear spray at about 25 feet” but said the bear’s momentum carried her through the orange mist and to him. Orr covered his neck with his arms, but he said each bite, “was like a sledge hammer with teeth.”

The bear left after a few minutes, but Orr said as he was walking back down the trail he was attacked again by the same animal. He said during the second attack the bear bit his arm and he heard bones snapping.

The bear left after the second attack, and Orr said he was able to drive himself toward help but had to have someone help him unbuckle his seat belt and put his vehicle in park once he arrived. You can read the full account on his Facebook page.

Orr said he has numerous bruises and scrapes as well as a chip out of the bone in his forearm. He said he required stitches for several wounds, including a 5-inch gash along the side of his head. He posted several photos that appear to show him recovering in a medical facility.
