NorthWest Arkansas Community College introduced its newly updated logo tonight at the college’s monthly Board of Trustees meeting.
The NWACC 9 member Board of Trustees voted and approved the new design.
Steven Hinds, Executive Director of Public Relations and Marketing, said the department recommended what they dubbed the "tree logo" with the tag line "Maximize Potential. Exceed Expectations."
They've been working with the local company CJRW for the last 9 months. They also had focus groups and an online campus survey. The survey results picked the one chosen as the top favorite.
Hinds said the logo and tagline relates to all of their students.
"Maybe it's exceeding the expectations of your parents or a child, many of our students are non-traditional students,” he said.
“We think you may be able to exceed your own expectations, but it could be interpreted by many family members a number of different ways. We think that it really shows a modern approach to the college," Hinds said.
NWACC will begin immediately changing electronic forms and make gradual changes in the next 12 months. The new design cost around $13,000 and funding came from private money through the NWACC Foundation.
