14-year old Dalton Henry of Prague, Okla. sustained fifth and sixth degree burns over parts of his body while burning brush at his family’s home Sunday (Feb. 9).
According to family members, Dalton has been burning brush all of his life and was being supervised by his older cousins that day.
While their backs were turned, Dalton picked up a can of gasoline to pour more on the fire. The can was somehow ignited and it exploded, engulfing Dalton’s face and hands in flames.
The nearest burn unit that was able to handle the severity of Dalton’s injuries is located in Dallas, Texas. He is currently in a medically-induced coma while he undergoes several surgeries.
